Chapter __

(Crossblood's kits are now apprentices and Shadefeather and Jetfur's kits as well....)

Truepaw's POV

I could feel someone's eyes on me. I looked around, knowing it would do no good. I caught the scent of Icepaw, Jetfur's kit. Practically my cousin.
"Hey, Truepaw. Hawkpelt asked me if you and Smoke-eye wanted to come on a hunting patrol with us. Wildfire set it up," the gray tom explained. I could feel his blue eyes on me. I flicked my ears and averted my eyes. They still looked around, since I could see when I was a kit. I still remembered Icepaw's face. I remembered everyone's face, back when I could see. Smoke-eye, the other blind warrior in the Clan, had been blinded in a battle with CloudClan and, for obvious reasons, chosen as my mentor. Why not, just group together the blind cats and hope that they wander off a cliff! I thought negatively.
"You don't want to come because you're-"
"Shut up, Icepaw. I'll come. And I'll outhunt you. Any day of the week." He pressed his nose to mine, his cold, cold nose.
"Now that's the Truepaw I know."
"Does Jetfur want you talking to me." I asked under my brath, feeling her icy gaze on me, hostile and angry. I turned to look where it was coming from, and it disappeared instantly.
"Probably not. I don't see why it matters, though."
"She's your mother, you should listen to her."
"Not if she's going to control who I hunt with. She's not going to control my warrior duties. I can promise you that." I shook myself.
"Come on, help me find Smoke-eye, please." I hated asking for help. Hated, hated, hated it. I always felt so helpless when I had to. Icepaw rested the tip of his tail on my shoulder, and I could feel a strange emotion coming from him.
"Icepaw, how do you feel about me?" He seemed struck by the question.
"What do you mean?" He asked. I could feel he wasn't looking at me. It was silent; I could sense the forest around me when it was this quiet. At least, when Icepaw was this quiet. He normally talked and talked, rambling on about anything that came to his mind. Maybe he wasn't as simple to read as I thought. Sometimes cats were that way- and knowing me, maybe I did get him wrong.
"I mean, you just seem like maybe you like me. I was just.... never mind, it's a dumb question."
"No, no, you're fine." He said. I could tell my mentor, Smoke-eye, was looking at me, even thought he couldn't see me that well. His tail tip landed lightly on my shoulder, and I looked up at him in surprise. He was always understanding, but never very perceptive, or so it seemed.

Warriors- Dark Forest: Prologue and Chapter 1

The predator cat ran from the dog into a clearing in the forest, turning to face it as it crashed into the clearing.
"Stupid dog! You think you can defeat me?" The predator cat hissed. It leapt onto the dog, catching it in the throat with it's fangs. The dog yelped once, then fell, bleeding, to the ground. Blood soaked into the dirt as the predator cat washed itself clean of blood.
"Now, for the Clans." It hissed as it stalked away into the undergrowth of the dark forest. Stars winked sadly in the sky as the cat dissappeared.

Chapter 1

Two cats walked along beside each other in the forest on RainClan territory.
"Can you smell anything, Lilypaw?" The large male asked.
"Yes, Firestorm," The smaller brown she-cat replied. "RainClan, fresh.. Kittypets, weeks old... Rouge,--"
She was cut off by a vicious hiss, and a cat sprang from the undergrowth. Firestorm's eyes went wide.
"C-Crossblood!" he gasped.
"Yes, remember me, Firestorm?"(Lilypaw- confused!)
"Lilypaw, go tell Robinstar! Get help!"
Lilypaw hesitated, and Crossblood sprang at her. Firestorm leapt in front of his apprentice, stopping the insane she-cat. Lilypaw fled, racing into the undergrowth.
"Crossblood... I never thought you would become..."
"What? Say it."
"A killer."
"You're funny," Crossblood purred.
"What?" Firestorm asked, confused.
"Why do you still love me if my actions disgust you so much?"
"I've been asking myself the same question..." he murmured. "But who said I still do?"
Crossblood yowled, lunging at Firestorm.

*

"Robinstar! Firestorm is fighting a rouge!" Lilypaw panted to her leader. Robinstar laughed.
"Firestorm can handle a rouge. Don't worry." Robinstar mewed.
"I think her name was... Crossblood. Yeah, Crossblood."
Robinstar's eyes flickered with recognition, her fur prickling and rising along her spine.
"Warriors! Crossblood!" Robinstar yowled. Every warrior stood and pricked their ears. "Bramblefire! Hawkfeather, Wildwind, and Coldheart! Come with me! Wildfire, you're in charge of the camp until we return!" Robinstar bent to Lilypaw. "Be prepared for the worst." She whispered, turning and racing out of the camp. Lilypaw shook herself, then followed.

*

When they found Firestorm, he was dead and four kits were near his body. He was covered in scratches and bites, blood matting his fur.
"Bramblefire, Hawkfeather, and Wildwind, follow her trail." Robinstar ordered. The warriors dissapeared into the forest.
Coldheart bent to her mate and pressed her nose into his fur.
"MoonClan, no!" Lilypaw cried, copying Coldheart. (MoonClan=StarClan)
"Lilypaw, Coldheart, I'm sorry." Robinstar mewed. "We've lost a good warrior today."
The kits yowled.
"Sorry Robinstar. She crossed over into SkyClan territory." Wildwind mewed, not even out of breath at all.
"Very good, Wildwind. As it is, we have some things to take care of." Robinstar mewed. A few moments later, Bramblefire and Hawkpelt appeared.
"Nothing," Bramblefire mewed.
"Dang, Wildwind, you run seriously fast!" Hawkpelt panted. Wildwind grinned.
"Thank you, Hawkpelt." She purred.
"We should send two warriors to SkyClan's camp to let them know Crossblood is back," Wildwind suggested.
"Exactly what I was going to say, Wildwind. You and Wildfire can do that once we are finished here."
